Walk Palm Springs and its modernist streets

The neighbourhoods
The town is famous for mid century modern architecture: low houses with flat roofs, big windows and breeze block walls. Neighbourhoods such as Vista Las Palmas, the Movie Colony and Twin Palms are full of them, and walking their streets is the main attraction.
The Indian Canyons, south of town on Agua Caliente land, have palm oases and trails along streams. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway rises from the north end of town to the mountain.
Heat
Summer is extremely hot, often over 110 degrees in the afternoon. Walk in the early morning or evening, or come in winter and spring, the main season.
The town is flat and spread out, and the neighbourhoods fill in as clean blocks.
