Mosque and ocean
The Hassan II Mosque stands partly over the Atlantic, with one of the tallest minarets in the world. It is one of the few mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslim visitors on guided tours.
From the mosque, the coastal road leads west to the Corniche at Ain Diab, a long seafront promenade with beaches, cafes and the lighthouse at El Hank.
Medina and downtown
The Old Medina, beside the port, is a small walled market quarter. South, downtown has some of the finest art deco and colonial architecture in Africa, along Boulevard Mohammed V and around the Central Market.
The Habous quarter, built in the 1930s as a new medina, has arcaded streets and bookshops. The Parc de la Ligue Arabe is a large green space in the centre.

Casablanca is large and busy, with heavy traffic. The coast and downtown are the most rewarding walks.
