FOG
Every track, together

See all your GPX tracks on one map

Most apps show recorded routes one at a time. If you have years of GPX files from watches and fitness apps, the more interesting view is all of them at once: everywhere you have ever recorded, on one map.

Where GPX files come from

GPX is the common format for GPS tracks. Most sports watches, bike computers and fitness apps can export activities as GPX, one file per activity or as a bulk archive. Old phones, retired watches and abandoned apps often hold years of them.

Collect them in one folder first. Name them however you like; what matters is that they are GPX.

How FOG does it

FOG starts with the world under fog and clears it wherever you have been. Import a GPX file and the fog clears along the track. Import a few hundred and your whole recorded history appears, joined into one picture. It reads Google Timeline exports too, so watch tracks and phone history can sit side by side.

After that it records on its own, in the background, so new walks join the old ones without any exporting. Everything stays on the phone. Import is part of FOG Unlimited, one purchase with no subscription.

Things to know

Each import file can be up to 80 MB, and very large histories are condensed so the map stays fast. Tracks recorded in a car will clear fog along the road like any other track, so leave out files you do not want on the map. FOG can also export everything back out as a single GPX backup.
