FOG
For riders

A map of every road you have ever cycled

Riders cover a lot of ground and still end up on the same routes. A cumulative map shows every road you have ridden in one picture, and turns the roads you have never tried into the obvious next ride.

Why riders like it

On a bike you cover in an hour what takes a walker a day, so a cumulative map grows fast and spreads wide. Over a season it becomes a clear picture of your riding territory: the main roads you always take, the climbs you favour, and the lanes you have never turned down.

That picture is a great route planner. The dark roads near home are the next ride.

How FOG handles cycling

FOG covers the world in fog and clears a circle of roughly 120 metres around wherever you go, walking, running or riding. It runs in the background with the screen off, so it records rides without a start button.

Old rides recorded on a bike computer or watch can be exported as GPX and imported with FOG Unlimited. Your whole riding history appears at once, alongside your walks.

A note on scale

Because riding covers ground quickly, ranks and area climb faster than on foot. Some riders like that; others keep FOG for walking only and leave the bike rides out. There is no wrong way to do it. FOG simply clears the ground you cover.

Everything else

The collection fills with the countries, regions and cities you pass through, which suits touring. The logbook writes a page for every month and year. No account, no cloud, no ads; the map stays on your phone and exports as GPX. It is a phone app, on iOS and Android.
