Walk Florianopolis, from the centre to the beaches

The centre
The Praca XV de Novembro is the main square, with a giant fig tree said to be more than a century old. The Mercado Publico, a yellow market building, is nearby, full of seafood stalls.
The Hercilio Luz Bridge, a suspension bridge linking the island to the mainland, is the symbol of the city, and it has reopened with walkways.
The island
The Lagoa da Conceicao, a lagoon in the middle of the island, has a village of restaurants and the dunes of Joaquina beyond it.
The island has dozens of beaches, and trails link some of them, such as the path to Lagoinha do Leste, a beach reached only on foot.
