Walk Key West, the whole island
Key West is a small island at the end of the road, with an old town that you can walk from one shore to the other in half an hour. FOG hides the map until you walk it, and here you can realistically clear almost all of it.
A town you can finish
Old Town Key West fills the western end of a small island. Duval Street crosses it from the Gulf side at Mallory Square to the Atlantic side, a walk of around a mile and a quarter. Side streets are lined with wooden conch houses, porches and gardens.
Landmarks are close together: the Hemingway Home with its six toed cats, the Truman Little White House, the lighthouse, the buoy marking the Southernmost Point, and the Mile Marker 0 sign where US 1 ends.
Walking the island
Start at Mallory Square, walk Duval to the Atlantic, then turn along the south shore to the Southernmost Point and Fort Zachary Taylor. Return through the quiet lanes of the Meadows and Bahama Village. Each day, pick a different set of side streets.
The island is around four miles long and a mile or so wide, so walking much of it in a few days is a real possibility, which makes it one of the most satisfying places to see the fog cleared almost completely.
Heat and sunsets
It is warm all year and hot in summer. Walk in the mornings and come back to Mallory Square for the sunset gathering. Hurricane season runs from June to November.
On the map, Key West becomes a small bright island in a huge dark sea, which looks wonderful on a share card.
The character who walks with you
FOG puts a small explorer called Wander on your position. Pick one of five paths (two are free, three come with FOG Unlimited) and every two levels on a path hands you a new piece of gear, earned only by the ground you cover. Twenty five pieces in all, and none of them can be bought.
Under the character it is a plain, permanent record: every street you walk in Key West is cleared and stays clear, the app works in the background, and the map is stored only on your phone with no account and no cloud. You can export it as GPX at any time.
