Walk Queretaro from plaza to plaza
Queretaro is a colonial city with an old centre of pedestrian streets, quiet plazas and a long stone aqueduct. FOG starts the map dark and clears only what you walk, and the plazas are linked by streets made for walking.
The plazas
The Jardin Zenea is the main garden, with a bandstand and the Templo de San Francisco beside it. Andador Libertad and Andador 5 de Mayo, pedestrian streets, lead to the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by mansions with arcades.
The Plaza de los Fundadores and the Templo de la Santa Cruz, on a hill east of the centre, mark where the city was founded.
The aqueduct
The aqueduct, built in the eighteenth century, crosses the eastern edge of the city on 74 tall arches. A viewpoint near the Santa Cruz church looks along it.
The Templo de Santa Rosa de Viterbo, with flying buttresses and a tower, and the Templo de Santa Clara, with a gold interior, are in the centre.
Coverage
The historic centre is a World Heritage site, compact and largely pedestrian. Queretaro is mild and dry for much of the year.
A loop from the Jardin Zenea through the plazas to the Santa Cruz church and the aqueduct is a pleasant day.
Background walking, private by design
FOG reveals the map with the screen off. Turn on background exploring and every street you cover in Queretaro clears on its own, whether you were sightseeing or just walking back from the shops. On Android a notification stays up while it runs, so you always know it is on.
Your trail is processed and stored only on the device. There is no account and nothing is uploaded, ever. Export a GPX backup from Settings so the map survives a lost phone. Ranks, gear for your character and a monthly and yearly logbook all grow out of the same walking, and the basics are free.
